Cavalier Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Chloe is a beautiful, seven-year-old, eighteen-pound, Cavapoo looking for a very special dog-savvy loving guardian. A Cavapoo is a hybrid of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Miniature Poodle. Chloe was purchased from a breeder at eight weeks of age and has been loved and well cared for since that time. Chloe just wants to cuddle with her person. She has a sweet disposition and gets along well with other dogs. She has never met a cat. She is still a puppy at heart and has a lot of life left in her. She does have history of resource-guarding - specifically with articles of clothing, like socks, underwear and sometimes towels. If she ... (Read More)gets these items and someone tries to take them from her she will become aggressive. So, in order to get an object from her it is necessary to trade her for a high value treat. Since her family has one toddler and a second child on the way, they can no longer work on her issues while keeping the children safe. So, she is looking for an all-adult dog-savvy household where someone will love her while managing her behavior. Chloe is very healthy, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, and micro-chipped. She does at times have a sensitive stomach so she takes a Pepcid tablet before bed. She eats grain-free food. Chloe was crated when younger, but is perfectly housebroken and not crated in the last six years. When left alone at home she may bark for just a few seconds but otherwise she will just sleep. She lived in a high rise for five years so she is good in elevators and loves to go on walks. To meet and possibly adopt Chloe, please contact Sheri at sheri@petraits.com to fill out an adoption application or ask questions. Her adoption fee of $300 benefits rescued pets. Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Leukemia (FeLV)

Colin is a fun, sweet, loving, playful and lovable, 11-month-old, male tabby kitten looking for a loving guardian. Colin walked into a North Lawndale high school in January. Luckily a kind-hearted teacher brought him home so he wouldn't have to go back outside on a zero degree day! All efforts to find his family failed; he wore no tags and wasn't micro-chipped. Colin loves people of all ages - including children and can probably share a home with cat-friendly dogs. He is perfectly litter box trained, and loves a scratching post. He loves all toys, balls and catnip sacks. He even lets you trim his nails. And, when you talk to Colin, he ... (Read More)talks right back. You can practically have a conversation with him.     [Read About Natural Cancer Care] Shane is a hunk of a well-trained, extremely sweet, energetic yet gentle, four-year-old, 85-pound, male Am Staff/Hound-mix looking for a temporary or permanent guardian as he goes through chemo. Shane is a lovely boy who adores people, is great in the home, house-trained and has had extensive training. He loves car rides and he's so well-behaved, he doesn't even need to be crated in the home. Shane has been with Almost Home for two years, moving back and forth to a kennel because his foster mom lives half the year in Arizona. Shane has recently been diagnosed with malignant mast cell tumors. He is on low dose chemo pills three times a week and the vet suggests that he may live two or more years with this treatment. So he basically needs to be fostered or adopted by someone while he enjoys the rest of his life. He has a foster mom who adores him, yet she lives part of the year in Itasca and the other part in Arizona. So, he's been kenneled half the year which is not good for his stress levels. His foster mom is returning to Arizona on May 2nd so Shane needs immediate foster so he doesn't need to be sent back to the kennel. Because he's a big strong guy, he's best with older kids and adults. He knows the commands sit, down, paw and other paw. Shane's adoption fee of $295 helps benefit the Almost Home Foundation, but he is also available for temporary or permanent foster care. Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Kate and Che, are a bonded pair of very shy tabby cats looking for a loving guardian. Found living together in a barn, Kate and Che were rescued and have adapted beautifully and appreciatively to the warmth and relaxation of indoor condo life. They are the best of friends often found snuggling or nesting together in their foster home. While they are not necessarily snuggly with humans, they are looking for someone who will enjoy their company without wanting huggable companion felines. Che is a five-year-old hunk of a long, sleek, male tabby with enormous soulful eyes and a big presence who loves to lounge on the sofa or hang out on the ... (Read More)cat tree. He has a super-mellow nature, and avoids confrontation from other cats. He's really just a big teddy bear that wants nothing more than a peaceful life. He loves food; whenever he hears a can being opened in the morning and evening, he pads to the kitchen and hangs out patiently by the door to make sure he's not forgotten. Kate is a 11-year-old petite female tabby with an endearing pixie face and the cutest white socks. Kate is coming out of her shell more each day and likes to explore her surroundings. She enjoys hanging out on the sofa grooming Che; she's a cougar! I understand from their foster mom that when an annoying photographer is not around, they are completely relaxed and happy. Here is a video showing how relaxed and happy they are in their foster home: https://youtu.be/Y8SSZpcP0wg These two are well-mannered in the home, use their litter box and scratching posts like good kitties. They get along with other felines in the home. And, while they are not currently living with dogs, they'd probably be fine with a dog that didn't chase them. Kate and Che are not at all aggressive with people, or with other cats. When nervous, they retreat or hide. They are neutered/spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped and virus-tested. Kate had a dental and only has three teeth left. Their adoption fee of $75 as a pair benefits the rescued pets of Azrael's Place. Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Not Good w/ Dogs, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Petra is a gorgeous, four-year-old, female brown and white classic tabby with golden eyes looking for a loving guardian. Petra was being fed outside and she was very consistent about showing up at the same place and same time every day. My friend told me about what he thought was a pregnant cat. Turned out she is just well-fed! I went to meet her and took her home (in a trap). When I brought her in to get spayed, I found that she had trapped a couple times before ... so she had already been spayed and micro-chipped. So, I got her vaccines up-dated, and had her re-checked for viruses, and treated for fleas and worms. Petra doesn't have ... (Read More)much use for humans. She likes when they keep her well-fed ... she loves her canned food. And she's very neat and tidy and uses her litter box perfectly. She does enjoy the company of other cats and hangs out with them happily in my house ... until I come in the room. And, then she darts back to her cat tree to hide. It's a bit insulting, but I think a patient cat-loving person can bring her around to appreciating humans a bit more. Why would someone take in a semi-feral cat? She'll live longer in the great indoors, she is a good friend to my other cats, and she's a no-bother kind of girl ... clean and neat. And, she's a challenge for those that enjoy socializing shy cats.
