Rescue Me ID: 18-01-17-00489Otto (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Otto is an adorable, fun, playful, and energetic, eight-month-old, 50-pound, male brownish/salt and pepper scruffy wire-haired terrier-mix looking for a loving guardian. Otto was abandoned in an apartment when his family moved. He was rescued only to be caged in an auto detailing spa to keep him out of the shelter system. He then came to me. He got a bath right away and is enjoying some TLC before being neutered and fully vetted tomorrow. He loves to play ball, go for walks and runs. He's strong, and he may be best for now as the only pet in the home. He needs some training so he can communicate better with his new family, but he's fun, ... (Read More)friendly and crate-trained. He's probably best with teens and adults because he jumps and can be mouthy. He's just a big un-trained puppy. He is very healthy, and will be neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, and heartworm-tested tomorrow, January 18th. His adoption fee of $250 benefits the rescued dogs of Friends of Petraits. If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting Otto, please contact sheri@petraits.com for an adoption application. He is being fostered in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood. (Less)

Chloe is a two-year-old, 11-pound, friendly, loving and playful, female calico/tabby, looking for a loving guardian along with three two-month-old kittens Josh, Tiger and Wolfie. While the whole family does not need to be adopted together, kittens would not be happy if adopted to a home with no other felines. So, ideally they will be adopted in pairs, and one kitten will be adopted with momma Chloe. Josh the grey and white male tabby is the biggest.     Joe-Joe is a fun, friendly and playful, five-year-old, chubby male tuxedo cat looking for a loving guardian. Joe-Joe is living in a foster home where he has proven perfectly litter box-trained and uses his sisal scratch post faithfully. He's a gorgeous boy with an upside-down heart covering his handsome face. He walks into a room and makes himself at home right away. He is not a shy guy who hides. Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Alexander is a playful, strong and extremely sensitive, one-year-old, 59-pound, tan and white Boxer/Hound-mix with gorgeous warm brown eyes looking for a loving guardian. Alexander is being fostered in an apartment with a small dog and cat and doing beautifully! He loves all dogs and cats and is great at doggie daycare and the dog park. This boy looks right into your eyes and heart. He came from a home where he lived with another dog, a cat and a four-year-old boy. The family was in turmoil and had to let go of their latest canine acquisition. He wasn't very well-treated in his former home, so he needs some training to boost his ... (Read More)confidence. He's a quick learner, is housebroken, and quietly crate-trained. He is well-behaved in the home if he gets enough exercise, and loves to cuddle up in a soft bed and chew his bones. Alexander didn't have a lot of exposure to the outside world as he rarely went on walks in his old home. Seeing squirrels, bunnies, mice, rats and other dogs on his walks excite him, and strangers can sometimes make him nervous. He lived in a home with a lot of loud voices and abuse, so a raised voice or a raised hand make him nervous. He's a loving and sensitive guy. Alexander is very healthy, neutered, up-to-date on rabies and distemper vaccines, micro-chipped, fecal-tested, de-wormed, heartworm-tested and on monthly preventative. He is being fostered in Chicago. To meet and possibly adopt him, please contact sheri@petraits.com for an adoption application. Small Mammal    Age: Young Adult

ChiChi is an adorable, friendly and active, five-year-old, male chinchilla looking for a loving guardian. ChiChi was given up to rescue when his family could no longer care for him. Chinchillas can be long-term companions living up to 20 years or so. He has a diet of mostly hay, chinchilla pellets, an occasional treat and fresh water. Chinchillas can overheat easily and cannot survive temperatures over 75F, or below 50F. So, their cage needs to be kept in a cool room with lots of airflow without direct sunlight or high humidity. In the summer, he'll need air conditioning; in the winter, he'll need heat. Chinchillas are native to the ... (Read More)Andes mountains of northern Chile. They are agile and able to jump around mountain peaks and their dense fur protects them from the cold. She'll even bat a toy around! She would love to go to a loving home where she can be doted on and enjoyed. She was found during the heavy rains a couple months ago, and the carrier was filled with not only rain water but her urine. I can't even imagine the torment she went through. She was given a couple baths, full bloodwork, and a virus-test. Her kidney values are not great, so she is eating a dry prescription kidney diet and receiving daily subcutaneous fluids, which she tolerates beautifully.     Lilly is a well-behaved, perfectly housebroken and extremely affectionate 8-year-old, 47-pound, gentle, strong, loving and friendly, chubby red and white Boxer-mix looking for a loving guardian. She is such a happy, wonderful girl whose nub of a Boxer tail is always wagging and she actually smiles. Lilly lived with a 78-year-old woman who has gone into hospice care.
