Kobe is a well-trained, handsome, sweet, people and dog-friendly, six-year-old, 60 pound, Dogo Argentino-mix with bizarrely cropped ears, and a ridiculously long tail looking for a loving guardian. You'd never guess that this once-sadly neglected and forgotten dog found as a skinny stray with a rope around his neck in Kendall County, would end up as a star of the Shedd Aquarium Aquatic Presentation. The training has turned once difficult dogs into wonderfully civilized dream dogs. Kobe was adopted by the Shedd to participate in their program and will leave in February to live with some lucky family now that he's finished his rehabilitation. Kobe enjoys being with people of all ages as much as he enjoys the company of other dogs of all sizes. While there are no cats to test with at the aquarium, he does do well with the otters! He is housebroken, knows the commands sit, down, paw, bark, hi-5, spin and takes food gently from your fingers. The cat had excellent judgment, as the woman was not only a cat lover, but also a veterinarian. She ran home with her dog to grab a cat carrier. Rescue Me ID: 16-02-09-00470Kate and Che (male)

Domestic Cat    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Kate and Che, are a bonded pair of very shy tabby cats looking for a loving guardian. Found living together in a barn, Kate and Che were rescued and have adapted beautifully and appreciatively to the warmth and relaxation of indoor condo life. They are the best of friends often found snuggling or nesting together in their foster home. While they are not necessarily snuggly with humans, they are looking for someone who will enjoy their company without wanting huggable companion felines. Che is a five-year-old hunk of a long, sleek, male tabby with enormous soulful eyes and a big presence who loves to lounge on the sofa or hang out on the ... (Read More)cat tree. He has a super-mellow nature, and avoids confrontation from other cats. He's really just a big teddy bear that wants nothing more than a peaceful life. He loves food; whenever he hears a can being opened in the morning and evening, he pads to the kitchen and hangs out patiently by the door to make sure he's not forgotten. Kate is a 11-year-old petite female tabby with an endearing pixie face and the cutest white socks. Kate is coming out of her shell more each day and likes to explore her surroundings. She enjoys hanging out on the sofa grooming Che; she's a cougar! I understand from their foster mom that when an annoying photographer is not around, they are completely relaxed and happy. Here is a video showing how relaxed and happy they are in their foster home: https://youtu.be/Y8SSZpcP0wg These two are well-mannered in the home, use their litter box and scratching posts like good kitties. They get along with other felines in the home. And, while they are not currently living with dogs, they'd probably be fine with a dog that didn't chase them. Kate and Che are not at all aggressive with people, or with other cats. When nervous, they retreat or hide. They are neutered/spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped and virus-tested. Kate had a dental and only has three teeth left. Their adoption fee of $75 as a pair benefits the rescued pets of Azrael's Place.     Petra is a gorgeous, four-year-old, female brown and white classic tabby with golden eyes looking for a loving guardian. Petra was being fed outside and she was very consistent about showing up at the same place and same time every day. My friend told me about what he thought was a pregnant cat. Turned out she is just well-fed! I went to meet her and took her home (in a trap). When I brought her in to get spayed, I found that she had trapped a couple times before ... so she had already been spayed and micro-chipped. So, I got her vaccines up-dated, and had her re-checked for viruses, and treated for fleas and worms. Petra doesn't have ... (Read More)much use for humans. She likes when they keep her well-fed ... she loves her canned food. And she's very neat and tidy and uses her litter box perfectly. She does enjoy the company of other cats and hangs out with them happily in my house ... until I come in the room. And, then she darts back to her cat tree to hide. It's a bit insulting, but I think a patient cat-loving person can bring her around to appreciating humans a bit more. Why would someone take in a semi-feral cat? She'll live longer in the great indoors, she is a good friend to my other cats, and she's a no-bother kind of girl ... clean and neat. And, she's a challenge for those that enjoy socializing shy cats. Petra is extremely healthy, spayed, up-to-date on rabies and distemper vaccines, micro-chipped, virus-tested negative and treated with revolution for fleas and worms.
